Vision, mission and objectives

 

Andrija Stampar Teaching Institute of Public Health is leading and accompanying the City of Zagreb citizens on their way to achieve health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity".

 

Vision, mission and objectives

As one of the medical excellence centers in the Republic of Croatia, our vision is to be the superior public health institution in the region, while our mission is to provide service in the field of public health, thereby respecting the highest standards of socially responsible behavior and scientifically based concepts, offering our users reliability and quality in accordance with the principles of healthcare excellence.

The Institute activities include public health, epidemiology, health ecology, microbiology, school medicine, prevention of addiction, public health gerontology and mental health care. The Institute is a teaching unit of the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb from Zagreb and School of Medicine, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University from Osijek.

The Institute is a collaborating institution of the School of Medicine, University of Rijeka; Faculty of Science and Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb; Zagreb University of Applied Health Sciences; Zagreb Health School; and Velika Gorica University of Applied Sciences, thus also successfully performing our educational role in the community.

Agreements on scientific and professional cooperation have been concluded with the following institutions: Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb; Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb; University of Applied Health Sciences; Zagreb Health School; Velika Gorica University of Applied Sciences; Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb; Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb; Chatolic University of Croatia; LIBERTAS International University; Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb; Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb and University of Botswana.

There are five reference centers of the Ministry of Health working at the Institute, confirming its leading role in the Croatian public health; the Institute's main potential are numerous first-rate professionals taking due care of population health through their university activities and research.
